Improve your meditation and concentration. In this cycle we will study  the book “Joyful Path of Good Fortune”, each week we will delve into one aspect of meditation and concentration. In particular, we will emphasize the chapter  training in tranquil abiding concentration.

Know the method to always have a happy mind

Experience the happiness that comes from keeping your mind focused on positive objects that give great meaning to your life. When you learn to keep your mind focused on virtuous objects, all your problems cease since they depend on the negative attitudes that you generate in your day to day life. If you gradually increase your concentration there will come a time when you will reach tranquil abiding which is a state of deep concentration and joy. With this realization you will be able to advance rapidly on the path that leads to nirvana and enlightenment.

What will you get in these classes?

  • Improve your meditations and develop your concentration.
  • Take the teachings received to your heart in a practical way.
  • Learn how to integrate these precious instructions into your daily life.
  • Get to know our Kadampa International Retreat Center Menorca
  • Experience the benefits of training in tranquil abiding

Ancient wisdom that illuminates our present

“Before we have developed a certain level of concentration, we almost continuously feel a kind of physical and mental discomfort. Our mental states change rapidly. As soon as we feel happy as well as unhappy. physically we also change very quickly. Even if we feel fine in the morning, we may get sick in the afternoon. On the contrary, once we have reached tranquil abiding we will not feel any physical or mental discomfort. Our mind will remain calm and we will be able to have good thoughts and feelings at all times, and to create causes to enjoy happiness in the future ”. Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche- Joyful Path of Good Fortune

Joyful Path of Good Fortune

For these classes we will base ourselves mainly on the chapter that deals with how to develop the concentration of tranquil abiding, in the book “Joyful path of good fortune”.

If we cultivate concentration, we can achieve spiritual realizations with ease; We can control our mind and reduce our delusions, the source of all our problems and suffering; We will develop physical and mental flexibility achieving great well-being. With the development of concentration we can overcome our laziness and we can create the causes of our future happiness.

About the classes

  • The classes consist of one or two guided meditations and teachings to develop inner peace and practical advice to maintain a happy mind in daily life. They are designed for both: people who want to get started in meditation and for those who want to improve the quality of their concentration, theoretical understanding and practical ability in daily life. The teachings of the Buddha are presented in a way that is accessible to all, so no prior experience is required and you do not need to be a Buddhist.
  • You can join the classes at any time, each class is independent of the other, although they are presented in cycles. It is always a good time to put aside worries, meditate, and return to tasks with a renewed, constructive and peaceful attitude.
  • Pre-registration is not required.
  • It is not necessary to come with special clothing, as long as you feel comfortable. Generally, we meditate on chairs, and in temple classes you can also sit on a cushion.
  • You enter the Sa Roca temple barefoot or you can put on some booties that we have at the entrance. In autumn-winter, we recommend bringing thick socks or indoor slippers to avoid getting cold feet.
  • You can bring a notebook to take notes, if you wish.

What is meditation?

Meditation is a mind that concentrates without distraction on positive or virtuous objects and its function is to calm our mind. If there is no peace of mind we will not be happy no matter how good our external conditions are. Meditation is the cause of our happiness both present and future. Therefore it is very important for everyone to learn to meditate.
